How the application works
We spray the treatment across every qualifying shingle in an even, overlapping pattern. The rate matters: dried-out shingles drink more, newer ones less. Ryan works the roof in sections and checks absorption as he goes.

What the treatment does once it's in
APEX-1132 is engineered to be chemically attracted to aged asphalt. It absorbs into the shingle and re-disperses the compounds that keep it flexible. SoyLei's third-party testing measured flexibility close to new shingles, up to 50% better granule retention, and 68% less flame spread.

How long until it's rain-safe?
APEX-1132 absorbs quickly. SoyLei's guidance is that it's ready in about an hour under normal conditions. We watch the forecast and won't apply ahead of weather that would interfere.
Will it smell or leave residue?
SoyLei describes the product as odor-free and family friendly, and that matches what we see on application day. The treatment soaks in rather than coating the surface, so there's no film, no sheen after curing, and no mess left behind.
Does the roof change color?
Shingles read darker while the treatment absorbs, like pavement after rain. As it cures, the roof settles into an even, refreshed tone. SoyLei's testing also points to less discoloration over time on treated shingles.
