Prep and clean
Debris off, surfaces gently cleaned, landscaping protected. No high-pressure washing, ever. Details on cleaning and prep.
04 · ABOUT AN HOUR TO ABSORB
Treatment
The APEX-1132 soy-based treatment goes on in even, overlapping passes and soaks into the shingles. No odor, no film, no mess left behind.
05 · EVERY YEAR AFTER
Checkup
The annual checkup keeps eyes on your roof, catches small problems early, and tells you when reapplication makes sense, about every five years per SoyLei's guidance.
INSIDE THE SHINGLE
Why the treatment step matters
The spray is the visible part. This is what it's doing inside the shingle: a cross-section at three points in an asphalt shingle's life, and where the treatment fits.
STATE 1
New shingle
Fresh asphalt is rich in oils. The shingle bends in wind, grips its granules, and sheds weather the way it was built to.
STATE 2
Aged shingle
Sun and heat bake the oils out. The shingle stiffens, granules wash into the gutters, and micro-cracks open. Most Hampton Roads roofs get here years early.
STATE 3
Treated shingle
The soy-based treatment absorbs into the asphalt and re-disperses the compounds that keep it supple. Flexibility may be restored and roof life can be extended.
Performance figures come from SoyLei lab and third-party testing of APEX-1132. Results vary by roof age and condition. That is one more reason we inspect before we recommend anything.
