What's Actually in a Roof Rejuvenation Treatment?

APEX-1132 going on. It absorbs instead of coating.

Any company spraying liquid on your house owes you a straight answer about what's in the tank. Here's ours, in plain English.

The product, named

We apply APEX-1132, a patented shingle preservation treatment from SoyLei Innovative Products. It's soy-based, which isn't a marketing garnish; it's the chemistry. Bio-based oils are engineered so the treatment is chemically attracted to aged asphalt, letting it absorb in instead of sitting on top.

What it does inside the shingle

New shingles are flexible because lighter compounds in the asphalt keep it supple. Sun and heat drive those compounds out over the years; the shingle stiffens, sheds granules, and fades. Once absorbed, the treatment re-disperses the shingle's compounds so it behaves more like it did when younger: SoyLei's testing measured flexibility close to new shingles, up to 50% better granule retention, and 68% less flame spread.

Performance figures come from SoyLei lab and third-party testing of APEX-1132. Results vary by roof age and condition. That is one more reason we inspect before we recommend anything.

What it is not

  • Not a paint or pigment. Your roof's look stays; it just holds it longer.
  • Not a sealant or membrane. Nothing forms a film on top.
  • Not a leak fix or repair product. Damage needs repair work, sometimes replacement.

The safety questions, answered

SoyLei describes APEX-1132 as environmentally and family friendly, with no odors. On the ground that matches what we see: no lingering smell, no residue washing into flower beds, no evacuation of pets required. We still protect landscaping and control the site during application, because careful is a habit, not a response to danger.

Why we can be this specific

We're an independent SoyLei dealer, not a franchise defending a secret formula. We chose the product on its published testing, and if better evidence shows up someday, we can follow it. Roof first, products second. More detail lives on the treatment page, and the FAQ covers the rest. Or ask directly: the assessment is free.
